Chief Executive Optimist, Fullsteam Brewery

Sean Lilly Wilson is founder and Chief Executive Optimist of Durham-based Fullsteam Brewery. He brings a non-traditional beer background, having founded and led both Pop The Cap and Permit Beer, two beer lobbying organizations that have opened up economic markets to North Carolina’s craft beer industry. His interest in social media helped tell the Fullsteam story, building a fan base (or at least the curious) during the two-year build-out of the brewery. Sean holds both an MBA and Master of Public Policy from Duke University.

My Vision or What Keeps Me Going: The quest to build a Southern beer economy.

Something that isn’t very well known about me: My undergraduate alma mater forbade drinking, playing cards, and “modern dancing.” This weekend, to make up for lost time, I hope to do all three.
